A 38-year-old mother-of-seven who is pregnant with twins is begging to be rehoused from her ‘hellish’ four-bedroom council flat which she says isn’t good enough for her.
Alana Burns is due to give birth in March adding to her already sizeable brood including Stewart, 20, Bryan, 19, and Caitlin, 16, who live together above a pub.
Also housed in the ‘leaking’ flat in Bathgate, West Lothian are Leigh, 15, Cayden, seven, Steven, four and Alisha, two, who share three rooms as one is ‘uninhabitable’.

The single mother said: ‘My relationship with some of my children is at breaking point, we can’t keep living like this.
‘The council has been out to the leak and said they’d get in touch with me, I have heard nothing. This has been going on for weeks and it needs sorting out.’
Ms Burns also hit out at the safety conditions her children are forced into with so many children squeezed into three bedrooms.
‘It is not safe for anyone to be sleeping in that room so we’re now down to eight people sharing three bedrooms which is ridiculous,’ Ms Burns said.
‘I just want to get out of this hell. I’d rather live anywhere else, as long as it is not in here. It has been really tough.
‘I’m feeling down every night and sometimes you just feel like giving up. But I just have to keep going for the sake of the kids.’
