Kellogg’s Cereal Recall!

I wanted to give everyone a head's up that several Kellogg's cereals are being recalled.  The ones that I purchased at Meijer this week are okay, but you may want to give your pantry a once over just to be safe. Kellogg's has voluntarily recall of select packages of Corn Pops, Honey Smacks, Froot Loops and Apple Jacks.  Consumers should not eat the recalled products because they do not meet quality standards. Here is some information about the recall from Kellogg's site:
  • What products are included in the recall?  What code dates I should look for?
  • We are recalling the following cereal products packaged in white foil bags due to an off-flavor and smell coming from the bag. Only products with the letters "KN" following the Better If Used Before Date are included in the recall. Kellogg's® Apple Jacks® UPC 3800039136 17 ounce package with Better if Used Before Dates between APR 10 2011 and JUN 22 2011 UPC 3800039132 3 8.7 ounce packages with Better if Used Before Dates between JUN 03 2011 and JUN 22 2011 Kellogg's® Corn Pops® UPC 3800039109 12.5 ounce packages with Better if Used Before Dates between MAR 26 2011 and JUN 22 2011 UPC 3800039111 17.2 ounce packages with Better if Used Before Dates between MAR 26 2011 and JUN 22 2011 UPC 3800039116 9.2 ounce packages with Better if Used Before Dates between APR 05 2011 and JUN 22 2011 Kellogg's® Froot Loops® UPC 3800039118 12.2 ounce packages with Better if Used Before Dates between MAR 26 2011 and JUN 22 2011 UPC 3800039120 17 ounce packages with Better if Used Before Dates between MAR 26 2011 and JUN 22 2011 UPC 3800039125 8.7 ounce packages with Better if Used Before Dates between MAR 26 2011 and JUN 22 2011 Kellogg's®Honey Smacks® UPC 3800039103 15.3 ounce packages with Better if Used Before Dates between MAR 26 2011 and JUN 22 2011 Again, only products with the letters "KN" following the Better If Used Before Date are included in the recall.

Mega Swagbucks Day!

Today is Friday, and that means that it is Mega Swagbucks Day!  Each Friday, Swagbucks steps it up a notch and gives away BIG numbers of Swagbucks.  Just search as you normally do and you have a chance of winning upwards of 20 swagbucks per search! I love Swagbucks and it is really easy to use.  Just last week I cashed in my Swagbucks for Paypal cash (which you can deposit into your bank account!) and I am almost to the point where I can do that again! So, what exactly is Swagbucks and how do you use it?  Well, Swagbucks are a  reward program - you earn rewards by using the service.  I have a toolbar that I installed and I use it for searches - at random I am awarded Swagbucks for the searches that I do.  You can also earn rewards from shopping online through their site, taking polls, trading in certain electronics, and more.  If you're already using a search engine or shopping online, sign up for Swagbucks today - you may as well get paid for what you are already doing!

It’s Official: I Know Nothing About Camping Tents!

It has been years since I have gone camping.  Literally - the last time was in college!  But as my kids get older, I wonder if it would be worth the experience to take them.  I think they would really enjoy it - we could go hiking, fishing, and eat s'mores by the fire.  There is only one problem (well, a few) problems.  One, we have no camping gear - no camping tent, no sleeping bags (a spiderman one - but I don't think that meets "outdoors" standards!), no fishing poles, nothing for an outside camping adventure. I was taking a look at camping tents - I never knew they had so many varieties!  I found two things that I think are important - one of which is that the tent is waterproof.  I don't want to get rained on in a summer storm!  The second that I am looking for is bugproof....but I am not finding that.  I guess bugs just tend to come along with the camping atmosphere, huh? I don't know if we will be going camping this year at all - unless it is just a backyard excursion.  I think my five year old would really like it....my two year old would probably like it for about 15 minutes....my one year old would not like it....and I would like it as long as the bugs stay away.  I guess that's a use for all that OFF that we've gotten at a great price lately, right?

[stextbox id="grey"]Have you ever gone camping with little ones?  What equipment would you suggest?  Any tips of where to go and what to avoid? [/stextbox]

Great Educational Kids Toys!

We are always on the lookout for new toys for the kids.  There is a lot of "junk" out there in the stores that really does not help kids out much at all.  We prefer toys that can increase the creative side or educational side of the kiddos.  I mean, if they're going to be playing with something it can at least be contributing to their development, right? I was very excited to come across The Kids Toystore -an amazing resource for all varieties of toys!   The site is amazing as it has each and every category broken down.  You can search by age range, type of toy, brand, or category. One area I really liked was the furniture section.  They have some very nice pieces here.  We are always looking for innovative furniture - with three kids we accumulate a lot of "stuff" so storage is at a premium!  They have a very nice storage bench that we may be purchasing in the future.  I love things that can serve double use. There is also a sale area, which I of course checked out.  Some of the items here were priced at 50% off!  They have a lot of Baby Einstein products listed in the sale section.  I personally really enjoy Baby Einstein products and have always found them to be useful after purchasing.  Some of the kids favorite items when they were younger were Baby Einstein.  I like that most of their toys have a musical flair as well. This is a really neat site if you have kids or relatives.  I like to keep these places in mind for birthdays and holidays.  Sometimes it is nice to find a unique gift that you might not necessarily be able to find in the stores.

Beautiful Beaded Lanyards and More – Makes A Great Gift!

Aren't these earrings just beautiful?  I stumbled upon a wonderful company that specializes in creating personalized lanyards, earrings, bracelets, key holders, and more.  Their prices are very reasonable and right now when you order through BooJee Beads you'll receive FREE shipping on orders over $40.00.  My favorite feature on their site is the gifts under $10.00.  They have a lot of unique items for sale here that you won't find at other places.  If you have to carry an ID for your employer, they have a huge number of very pretty and unique badge holders as well.
