Skinny Points

If you have followed my blog for long - you know that I am a big fan of giving back to others with what we are often blessed with an abundance of due to the use of coupons.  I wanted to let you know about an event that was organized by Cha Ching On A Shoestring - Couponing For Community. This was organized to raise awareness of need in our own communities.....I know I have a lot in my pantry and linen closets that I can give - why don't you join me in donating from your home as well?  There are tons of shelters and food pantries that would love to have extra food, household items, health & beauty items, and even pet items!  Just do a quick search on the internet or a quick look at the yellow pages and I am sure you will find somewhere to donate. I am inviting you to join me in giving a portion of your stockpile away during the week of May 2-8.  There are over 65 bloggers participating in this project - think of how many people will be helped! If you are on Facebook, check out the event page to see just how large this has grown - it is amazing what one idea can do! So, here is how you can help: * Gather items from your pantry and linen closets to donate * If you don't have anywhere in mind - let me know - I will find somewhere near your home that will take the items * Come back here and leave me a comment about what you have donated!  On May 8, all the bloggers involved are going to do a link up to show just how much of an impact that we can all make!
